We live in a time when the saints of God are too quick to be discouraged and swayed. They are “falling away” or
walking away from the faith because of trouble and persecution. Jesus explained in the book of Matthew that it’s
because their roots don’t go deep enough. The soil is shallow.

Are you deeply rooted or are you shallow? If your roots don’t go deep enough, you won’t last. You’ll be like a sun-
scorched plant that withers away and dies. Don’t let this be you.

In 2019, our First Lady, Dianna Hobbs, is kicking off her “Go Deeper to Go Higher” Bible Study series based on
Matthew 13:5-6, as well as verses 20-21. When you press your way to church, you’ll be taught powerful principles that
will cause you to spring up to higher levels, and not be destroyed by trouble, and persecution.

You don’t want to miss this powerful Bible Study series every week on Wednesdays, beginning at 7 PM. Start your year
off right—by going deeper in the word of God.

    Matthew 13:5-6
“Some fell on rocky places, where it did not have much soil. It sprang up quickly, because the soil was shallow.
But when the sun came up, the plants were scorched, and they withered because they had no root.”

    Matthew 13:20-21
“The seed falling on rocky ground refers to someone who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But
since they have no root, they last only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word,
    they quickly fall away.”
